Meet Alex Drossler, SEOPS’ new VP of Dedicated Launch Operations

SEOPS is growing—and growing fast. As we are delivering on our mission to expand our launch services and execute an ambitious roadmap to be the access layer to space, we’re bringing on experienced leaders who know how to get things done.

We’re excited to welcome Alex Drossler as SEOPS’ new Vice President of Dedicated Launch Operations.

Alex joins SEOPS from Momentus, where he served as Director of Mission Design. With a master’s degree focused on space architecture, he led the development of mission solutions from initial design through launch and on-orbit operations. He also managed multidisciplinary teams of orbital mission, mechanical, systems, spacecraft, structural, and avionics engineers, along with product managers, to ensure mission success every step of the way.

Alex is now bringing that experience to SEOPS, where he will oversee the company’s dedicated launch programs from a holistic perspective. He’ll lead a growing team of mission directors, each responsible for managing launch and rideshare mission success across multiple launch vehicles and mission profiles, ensuring every launch receives the planning, coordination, and attention it requires.

It’s an exciting time to join the company. With SEOPS’ dedicated rideshare programs—Waymaker for low Earth orbit and Darkstar for geostationary transfer orbit—already attracting strong customer interest, Alex will play a key role in scaling the processes, teams, and infrastructure needed to support a growing launch manifest.

“What excites me most excited about SEOPS is the passion and energy of the team coupled with the pace at which everyone is working,” Alex says. “We’re at a point in the space industry where launches are happening more frequently than ever before—almost every day. As that pace continues to accelerate, we need better infrastructure and smarter processes to make access to space more scalable.”

One project from Alex’s time at Momentus exemplifies the kind of complex mission management he enjoys. He helped lead the Vigoride 7 Orbital Service Vehicle, which launched on Transporter-16 as an on-orbit servicing demonstration mission designed to validate a suite of next-generation technologies.

“It was an exciting project to work on,” he says. “Including inspector satellites that fly out and capture images of Vigoride and other spacecraft. I was fortunate to help bring the mission together from start to finish with an incredible team. Seeing years of planning and engineering come together in a successful launch is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.”

Experiences like that have reinforced Alex’s belief that as launch cadence increases and missions become more sophisticated, success depends on disciplined execution and repeatable processes. That’s exactly what he hopes to continue building at SEOPS.

One of the principles that guides Alex’s approach is earning and maintaining customer trust. In the launch industry, trust isn’t built overnight—it’s established through transparency, responsiveness, and clear communication, especially when challenges arise. Space missions are inherently complex, and every mission presents obstacles that require collaboration and problem-solving.

“One of the big things that I’ve learned is that launching satellites may feel routine to those of us in the launch services business, but for most of our customers, it’s anything but,” he says. “This mission is their baby, and it’s incredibly important to them. We have to show our customers that we understand what’s at stake. Challenges will come up, and the process can be stressful and frustrating, but every customer deserves our full attention. They need to know we’re invested in their success just as much as they are.”

SEOPS’ culture is built on innovation and an unwavering commitment to the customer experience, making Alex a natural fit for the team. His expertise and customer-first mindset will help strengthen our ability to deliver on our promise of making access to space simpler, more reliable, and more efficient.

“This is where I can really fulfill my dream of building incredible space infrastructure and delivering successful launch programs. I’m excited to help shape the next chapter for SEOPS.”

Welcome aboard, Alex!
